Many years ago, I worked for a company that had an international connection to sell products to Japan. The company would welcome new potential customers with a tour of the manufacturing facility and at the end of the tour, a brief video of the history of the company that dates back to the Civil War when it made cannon balls. The video included company participation during WWII and mentioned Pearl Harbor.
I was the only person who remembered that -and I made a quick move to tell our guests that the TV viewer was not working, so there would not be a video, but I could tell them the important parts (minus the Pearl Harbor reference). The Big Shots at the factory thanked me. We did not embarrass our guests and made the sale.

Fun fact: there’s a position in the Department of State titled the Chief of Protocol, whose duty is to advise the president (and others) on matters of protocol and diplomacy to help them avoid cultural faux pas and whatnot. E.g., never offer your left hand for a handshake when meeting with people from certain cultures (mostly Islamic/Arabic).
And if that office was currently held by anyone qualified (it probably isn’t) I imagine they would have an infinitely frustrating time trying to drive any of that information into Trump’s cottage cheese brain.
