  1. That’s a tad short sighted, given it’s the only thing between them and a watery death 🤷‍♂️

The ship was diverted to Crete just prior to arriving in the middle east due to plumbing issues. Seems that someone flushed a t shirt just before the war started

  3. the term jingoism comes from an old song lyric: We don’t want to fight but, by Jingo, if we do, we’ve got the ships, we’ve got the men, we’ve got the money too

yall we aint got the ships the men or the money for this bullshit right now

  4. So they would rather suggest mutiny rather than admit that the Iranians damaged the carrier.

Seems an appropriate name for a carrier, given it’s namesake president’s penchant for stumbling, falling and bumping himself on the head.

  6. At this point I’d just go awol, fly home, and go to prison. I’d rather be in prison than going to a war to protect a pedophile and his sycophants

Can anyone explain why navy doesn’t just replaces the Ford with a Nimitz one, or just finish the Kennedy sea trials and deploy here asap?

People forget: to those serving, for the most part, it’s just a fucking job. That’s it, a steady paycheck.

When you see it like that and wonder how many people have done something at work so they can go home early, it makes a lot more sense.

The most expensive carrier ever built is only 13 bil? And we’ve spent double that on the war so far? The Pentagon is asking for another 20?

  10. Sailors rebeling and going on strike is always a good sign, nothing ever happens when soldiers won’t fight the ruling class’s battles for them, oh WHAT IS TO BE DONE?!

  11. Lol, as a former sailor, I can tell you first hand that people will do some wild shit to avoid doing what they dont want to do. Im not saying I agree here or not, im just saying, ive seen some shit.

Seeing as how the president didn’t get congressional approval to start a war they would be upholding their oath.

  13. Was the Gerald Ford the one with malfunctioning toilets where they’ve been floating in shit?

  14. Meanwhile British warship HMS Queen Elizabeth has its own pub.
    We don’t expect any trouble

Clogging the shitting and setting fires isn’t far down the list from fragging. It’ll start happening soon, I bet.

  16. I was totally wondering that, how do you suddenly set a massive ship on fire when doing nothing

  17. I heard that they did it accidentally when trying to destroy all the hard copies of the Epstein files.

Maybe keeping this ship at sea for 10+ months, with no end in sight, to wage an unpopular and unnecessary war, was a bad idea.

  19. I remember seeing some conservatives saying people in the military are honored to fight, they know what they signed up for. But there are a lot of people who enlist for many other reasons like education, benefits, not sure what to do after they’re done with school. Those people probably don’t want to go to war.

  20. This sort of thing isn’t unprecedented in the Navy, it happened in Vietnam- in 1972 USS Ranger had approximately 22 different attempts at sabotage to keep the ship from being deployed to Vietnam.

Sailors on extended deployments have repeatedly committed suicide, so sabotage is hardly out of bounds. By the US Navy’s own studies, approximately 150 sailors are experiencing suicidal thoughts on an aircraft carrier at any given point in the a deployment, and 30 of them are in an advanced stage of planning a suicide.

The Gerald R Ford has been at sea for over 10 months and will likely be at sea for more than 11 months. That is well within the established range of extended deployments where suicide rates and dangerous accident rates increase considerably.

Most ships don’t deploy for more than 6 months, and ships deployed for 8 months can see a significant increase in disciplinary actions, accident rates, decreased performance, and crew morale issues.

  21. The fact remains that the troops have no laundry facilities, hundreds are sleeping on the floor, their fucking bedding, clothes and personal belongings went up in flames.

If you are part of the “well they all deserve it because maybe possibly one troop made a bad decision”, then eff off.

I’ve been there and wiped my ass with a dryer sheet because we were out of anything else resembling paper. Yes, it smelled great. No, it didn’t feel good.
