At this year’s Business Review Awards, where over 15,000 votes shaped one of the most community-driven editions to date, Vodafone Romania stood out with two major distinctions. The company received Most Impactful Investment of the Year for the acquisition of Telekom Romania Mobile, while CEO Nedim Baytorun was named Executive of the Year, recognising his leadership during a transformative period for the business.

The acquisition marks a defining moment for both Vodafone and the broader telecommunications market, reshaping the competitive landscape and enabling the scale required for sustained investment in network development, technology upgrades, and service innovation.

For Vodafone Romania, 2025 was a turning point, setting the foundation for a new phase of growth built around integration, operational efficiency, and a stronger positioning in a consolidating market.

“2025 was a transformational year for us. The acquisition of Telekom Romania is a big milestone and a strong signal of Vodafone’s commitment to Romania,” said Nedim Baytorun, CEO of Vodafone Romania.

A central priority is the integration of the two networks, with a clear focus on delivering tangible improvements for customers. The combined infrastructure is expected to enhance coverage, capacity, and speed, while supporting a more consistent and reliable user experience.

“We are merging two very strong networks into one. This means better coverage and capacity, better speed. We are the certified best network of the past 10 years and we will continue to be the best network in Romania,” he added.

Beyond network performance, the integration also enables a more structured transition for Telekom customers, supported by tailored migration plans and access to a broader portfolio of services.

“The two companies coming together will create a better customer experience—this is our promise. We have an individually designed plan for every Telekom customer coming to Vodafone,” Baytorun noted.

At the same time, Vodafone is accelerating its evolution from a traditional telecom operator towards a more integrated technology provider. The company is expanding its focus on convergence and advanced solutions, covering not only fixed and mobile connectivity, but also ICT, IoT, private networks, and digital services.

This strategic direction is backed by continued investment, building on the more than EUR 6.5 billion already invested in Romania, with further capital allocated to network integration and future-ready technologies.

“It will mean more investments in digital transformation, big opportunities for our customers in terms of better network, better customer experience, and better technologies,” the CEO said.

With increased scale, expanded capabilities, and a clearer strategic direction, Vodafone Romania is positioning itself to play a more prominent role in Romania’s digital transformation while strengthening its competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market.
