Aidan, the Maltese representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, has released his new album “Cowboys Don’t Cry”.
Ahead of his performance in Vienna this May, Aidan has released the second studio album of his career, “Cowboys Don’t Cry”. Earlier this week, Aidan unveiled the title track ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’, accompanied
by a new music video that offered fans a first glimpse into the sound and visual direction of the album.
The Maltese singer has commented the release of his second album:
This album shows a more mature side of me, both musically and personally. It’s very personal and honest, and I’ve put a lot of myself into these songs. My team and I worked on this release for the past 2 years. This album is a new chapter in my career as an independent artist and I am so grateful I have the support of music lovers from Malta, Europe and Australia. It’s a dream come true.
“Cowboys Don’t Cry” features 12 brand-new hits, including fan favourites ‘Bella’, representing Malta at Eurovision 2026, and ‘Taste’. The project follows an intense creative process, with Aidan writing over 60 songs before narrowing them down to the final 12 that make up the album, showcasing his evolving sound and artistic vision.
The album is already available on all major streaming platforms, with Aidan promoting his Eurovision entry in a tour that brought him to Sweden, Lithuania, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, and San Marino. Aidan will also be performing in Oslo this weekend, at the Nordic Eurovision Party, and at the end of March he will be holding two meet-and-greet events in Melbourne and Sydney. This will be the first time that an Eurovision artists promotes in Australia.
Aidan was chosen to represent Malta at Eurovision 2026 with “Bella” after winning the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. The song was written by Aidan himself and composed by Aidan, Joep van den Boom and Sarah Bonnici. Sarah Bonnici represented Malta in Eurovision 2024 with “Loop”. “Bella” is the first Eurovision entry to feature lyrics in Maltese since 2000.

Malta debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 and was represented by Joe Grech and the song “Marija L-Maltija”, which finished last. Malta competed again in 1972 and 1975 but then withdrew until their return in 1991. During the 1990s, Malta only once finished outside of the top 10, and in 1998, they came within just 7 points of victory. It was Chiara who brought the country their 3rd place finish in 1998, and who went on to finish in 2nd at the 2005 contest in Kyiv. The only other artist to finish 2nd for Malta is Ira Losco, who was 12 points away from victory in 2002. They are the longest and most successful participating country to have never won the Eurovision Song Contest.
