Dad is visiting and he’s a woodworker and I’m wondering if anyone makes things like this because he would like to take it home as a souvenier if anyone does similar work somewhere in Tallinn

    1. The technique is called intarsia. If someone does it it’ll be really expensive. But there are sometimes old mass produced intarsia panels in drift stores.

Its actually Marquetry and it’s not being manufactured anymore however you might find some from antique shops. I recommend visiting Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, they should have one very good example from the 30s. Most marquetry furniture and souvenirs like small pictures were produced during the soviet era in Narva.
