Hoffenheim star Fisnik Asllani says qualifying for the World Cup would be the best gift for all Kosovo fans.

We are now four days away from the World Cup, where Kosovo will be the guest of Slovakia, and if they win, they will play the final in Pristina against the winner of the other semi-final, Turkey – Romania.

In a long interview with “Sport Bild”, Asllani was also asked about the possibility of qualifying for the World Cup, where he stated that all Kosovo fans are eagerly awaiting it.

“It could be the most drastic thing that has ever happened or that could happen to the country. Yeah, I don’t know, it can’t be described in words. The messages that have come in these last few months, everyone says that qualifying for the World Cup would be the best gift for us.”

However, Asllani admitted that it will not be easy at all with Slovakia, who recently defeated Germany.

“It would be the best gift for us too and yes, we are looking forward to the match. It will be very difficult. What are the chances? I don’t believe there is any national team that should be underestimated or anything like that, nor should we be underestimated. We have the quality and the opportunities are there.”

“Slovakia beat Germany at home, I think it was 2-0, so it’s considered brutally difficult. There are no easy matches with the national team anymore, everyone puts their heart into the game so it won’t be easy for anyone.”

Asked who he would be most proud of if he qualified, Asllani laughed and said that it would definitely be his father.

“Who would be prouder, you or dad? I think dad, yes. I would be extremely proud, but no one would be more proud than my dad.”

As a reminder, Asllani will travel to Kosovo after the match with Hoffenheim while the “Dardans” will play the challenge with Slovakia on Thursday.telegraph/
