Belarus is interested in actively expanding political and economic ties with North Korea. This is stated in the congratulation of Alexander Lukashenko on behalf of compatriots and personally Kim Jong-un on his re-election to the post of Chairman of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

“The unanimous adoption of this decision by the Supreme People’s Assembly reflects the collective will of the Korean people and the full support of your consistent course to strengthen the country’s independence and improve the welfare of the population,” the message of greetings reads.

Lukashenko is convinced that “Kim Jong-un’s activities in this responsible post will continue to contribute to the development of the DPRK and the prosperity of its citizens.” The President of Belarus confirmed Minsk’s interest in actively expanding political and economic ties with Pyongyang at various levels. He also wished Kim Jong-un “excellent health and fruitful government work.”
