Police launched an investigation into a wind turbine fire in Yeongdeok County, North Gyeongsang Province, that killed three workers on Monday.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police said Tuesday that it had requested that representatives from the turbine operator appear as witnesses the previous day, but they did not cooperate.
The police plan to summon them again for questioning about working conditions at the time of the tragedy, safety management, regulatory compliance and the cause of the fire.
The Yeongdeok Police precinct plans to file for an autopsy of the victims’ remains on Tuesday.
The labor ministry is separately looking into whether to charge the company with violations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
