For the first time in the world, antimatter is being transported by road at CERN in Geneva. The test carried out on Tuesday at the nuclear research centre is intended to prove that the antiparticles can be transported safely.

Transporting antimatter safely is the kind of progress most people won’t notice, but it matters a lot.

  2. everytime i hear about CERN its them doing absolute black magic. between turning lead into gold and now this

  3. Well, the worst that can happen is a black hole that eats the earth, given the state of the world I’m ok with that option /s

  4. Cant wait to transport antimatter from CERN to some random depot in Sevilla in Euro Truck Simualtor 2

police at the border: “what is the weight of the cargo?”

me: “-10 kg, let me through”

  6. This is actually bad news because it makes the plot of that silly Dan Brown novel tuned movie 0.000001% more realistic

  7. They should transport it by road through Hungary and let Orban steal it.

Man, the (brief) look on their faces when they open the box.

  8. I mean you have to be prepared to transport the antrichrist around later, that’s a lot more protons.

  9. Wait, they have stable antimatter? Last time I checked this topic this was all theoretical

  10. Just quantum entangle them with other antiparticles and you don’t need to transport them, they are already there

The fact that we can casually transport antimatter now really shows how far physics has come. A few decades ago this would’ve sounded like pure sci-fi.
