The evening started in San Jose as No. 2 seed Purdue took down No. 11 seed Texas in thrilling fashion. Meanwhile, No. 9 seed Iowa saw its Cinderella run continue as the Hawkeyes went on a late run to get past No. 4 seed Nebraska.
Later on, No. 3 Illinois defeated the No. 2-seeded Houston Cougars. To cap off the action on the West Coast, No. 1 seed Arizona beat No. 4 seed Arkansas.
