Not sure if I’m glad they’re finally realising that or annoyed it took them this long.

Can’t remotely rely on him in times of no crisis, far less when in an actual crisis.

It’s almost as if alliances go both ways. He can’t rely on our help, whether people disagree with his actions or Starmers flip flopping. So why should we expect better?
Not advocating for blindly following Trump, or any deranged foreign leader, but give and take without it being mutual is just exploitation.

They are finally catching up to reality its pretty clear Trump will throw us under the bus whenever it suits him. Its also becoming clear the US is going home, has little interest if any in NATO commitments and will use Trade as a big hammer to get its own way.
We will need to work with our European NATO partners to provide a security architecture for all of us and of course spend a great deal more on defence than we do at the moment.
The increase in defence spending will need to come from somewhere else so MP’s will have some hard choices to make in the coming months but its always a good first step to admit you have a problem and want to do something about it.

Guess it makes sense why we’re allowing Chinese super embassies, American is alienating itself as one of the last imperialist nations to disregard international law.
Think about it – right now we see America as the obvious ally, but why? Religious fuelled terrorism is bad when Iran does it, but when it’s done for the sake of baby Jesus that isn’t a red flag?

It’s a special relationship when the US wants it to be. We’re in an abusive relationship and Starmer is standing his ground without trying to get a backhander. Farage, Cameron and all of the Brexit voters have compounded the situation, so we’re now stuck in this semi-isolated position where we need both the EU and the US but both have distain and mock the UK.

The “Special Relationship” is just a way of trying to force us into America’s demands at this point. The last time it felt remotely real was under Obama.

You can pretty much guarantee that if a NATO country is attacked the USA would not honour the defence agreement out of spite at this point.

Why is Starmer relying on him in the first place. Copy Canada and cut out all US goods.

No shit, Sherlock. It’s good to know they are so on the ball.
