      That’s a tough shift, feels like policy trying to balance fairness and reality, but it’s going to hit a lot of people hard.

      Note that this only applies to new people.

      The ones who are already in the country are allowed to stay. They are not rounded up and sent back.

      And new people claiming asylum will get their application processed as normal.

      _I hope more of these young men (and women, if they do not have young children) man up and return to help free their country. Ukraine needs them._

      I believe (or at least hope) that is what I would do in their situation, even though I do not know that for sure. (It is easy to be a tough guy on the internet…) And hope I never have to find out.

      Where’s the humanity? If they wanted to, they wouldn’t leave the country. And all these hypocritical politicians simply send them to the slaughter, and then at some future date promise to accept them into the European Union. Neither in Ukraine nor in Russia does anyone value their lives or their rights. Hypocrites are everywhere. Many in Europe don’t understand the realities there.

      If the real reason was we receive “too many”, this wouldn’t be limited to men “of military age”.

      There’s an obvious moralistic tinge to this, we will not receive those who should be fighting for their country.

      And I agree, but it is still wrong. We should support Ukraine 200% and do what we can to help them fight for their survival.

      But we should also be a safe haven for those who seek refuge from war. No matter who they are.

      I don’t know how I feel about Ukrainian men of fighting age staying abroad while others fight and die every day on the frontline.

      Yet we give refuge to women with no question even though our own armed forces insist men and women are equally fit for combat duty.

      Giving welfare to ukrainian able bodied men while having conscription is insane to me.
