      USA is paying $1B+!per day to attack Iran plus the destruction they are doing to us and other countries. At that rate we could pay for 500 ships per day to go through? Maybe sign up for there frequent flyer program too?

      This is outdated. With recent developments, all passage is now completely blocked. Latest news suggests that following the regional commander decapitated by Israel, the blockade remains but as a blanket rule (probably due to limited organizational capacity to enforce a toll).

      General Barry McCaffrey laid out a rather grim assessment of where Trump and the Trump Administration stand with respect to achieving their apparent war aims.

      The U.S and Israel are no closer to their evident objective of truly eradicating Iran’s uranium enrichment program. To do this with military force, we would have to invade Iran with large numbers of ground troops, inspect the known underground bunkers and find the enriched uranium and centrifuges that Iranians secretly removed from Isfahan and other underground bunkers. Scientists and nuclear technicians would have to conduct inspections. These American personnel would be vulnerable to attack by the Iranian military, IRGC and IRGC-QF.

      The U.S. military would face a similarly dangerous and potentially bloody task in ridding Iran of its ballistic missile capabilities.

      The U.S. Navy, U.S Navy warships, any marines and Army troops securing the shore lines would face grave dangers in securing the Strait of Hormuz.

      It is difficult to foresee any military endgame that would have any chance of success. I say this, even though I believe that our armed forces have fulfilled their designated misdions largely successfully. I would think that the only potentially successful endgame would entail negotiations. Unfortunately, the Iranian regime that now is in place is apparently even more resistant to negotiations than the regime in charge in Tehran at the beginning of the present war or military conflict.

      To be honest, that’s honestly not that much? 2,000,000 barrels per ship, currently 100ish a barrel. That’s 200,000,000 million dollars. So we add 1% to that basically. 2% if we get down to 50 a barrel?

      That’s close to the extra insurance premiums that kept ships from transiting the Suez last year. That rate it was cheaper to go around Africa. Tangental, but kinda fascinating. Idk.

      None of this had to happen.

      Iran’s only standing for the action they’re taking is that they were attacked by the US.

      The entire world is now in a situation where they are facing an angry hornet’s nest of bullshit because one fucking guy couldn’t be sensible.
