    this is awesome!

My local station was Allawah for several years, it was pretty barren with only a few shops and restaurants, at times it was faster to walk 20-25 minutes to Hurstville that wait for the next train, no one really wanted to ‘Stay Here’

My favourites are probably Pendle Hill i.e. Hill Hill Hill, and Berala i.e. Swamp Duck

Also cannot wait to tell shireys that Cronulla is named after a small pink seashell.

  2. This is awesome! How did you go about researching the origins? (and dare I ask how long it took to put together?)

A fun fact is that Waitara is named after the NZ town, therefore Māori. Most people assume it’s from an Aboriginal language.

  5. This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen for Sydney, the metro line however, what I use most is quite boring after bella vista

I like how Bad Pyrmont implies that somewhere, there is a good Pyrmont. But not here.

  7. OK. The RULES.

What I know about Seven Hills, is that the wife of Lachlan Macquarie, was standing on the south facing balcony of their house (which still stands at Bella Vista farm) and counted seven different hills, which reminded her of the seven hills of Rome
