FIRMS shows the fires at the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery in the Yaroslavl Oblast of Russia. The circle shows the heat emission through regular activity; the other red squares are fires caused by the attack with Ukrainian Flamingo missiles.

  1. Not fires, most of it is heat being emitted off the CDU they struck. You can see the smoke ploom.

    Decently spicy hit. Damage is much more wide spread than some of the storage tank hits on FIRMS that I’ve seen.

    A decent number of distillation columns hit. There is an absolutely massive signature (~1/2 of the largest signature I’ve ever seen) pretty close to a catalytic cracking unit. That would be one of the jewels to hit.

  3. Imagine working in that “regular activity” spot, knowing your part of the factory could get the next drone visit any time.

  4. Ukrainian contribution to ensuring Russians are comfortably warm this winter. I’m uncertain how the Russians will stay warm NEXT year, though.
