Malta has welcomed the Four Seasons Yacht 1 into the Grand Harbour, marking the final stop of its maiden Mediterranean voyage from Málaga to Valletta.

The ultra-luxury yacht arrived early on Saturday morning following a nine-night journey across several exclusive Mediterranean destinations. It is now set to begin a second voyage from Malta, with new passengers boarding in Valletta at fares starting from around €20,900.

Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg described the arrival as a milestone for Malta’s tourism sector, highlighting the country’s focus on attracting high-value visitors and promoting sustainable, long-term growth. He was joined by Transport Minister Chris Bonett during the official Maiden Call Plaque Exchange Ceremony.

The Malta-flagged yacht is designed as a floating five-star resort, offering 95 luxury suites with private terraces for up to 180 guests, supported by a crew of 180. Onboard facilities include fine dining venues, wellness and spa areas, and marina access, alongside low-emission technologies and AI-supported systems.

According to officials, this segment of ultra-luxury travel is aligned with Malta’s tourism strategy, which prioritises higher-spending visitors, sustainability, and reduced pressure on infrastructure. Passenger expenditure per voyage is estimated to reach up to €200,000 per guest.

The yacht’s arrival also reinforces Malta’s position in the global superyacht and cruise sectors, while supporting opportunities for extended stays and increased spending within the local tourism ecosystem.
