High-level diplomats will hold sensitive talks in Islamabad, aiming to revive stalled proposals and reduce regional tensions before a possible response from Tehran or Washington.

As Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishak Dar wrote on X (Twitter).

In Islamabad, on March 29-30, a meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey is expected, during which they will discuss efforts to halt the US-Israeli war against Iran, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on X.

“During the visit, the foreign ministers will hold in-depth discussions on a range of issues, including efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.”

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he spoke on the phone with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for more than an hour.

“I informed him about Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts – engaging the United States and the brotherly Gulf and Islamic countries – to foster dialogue and de-escalation.”

Islamabad has emerged as an unexpected diplomatic intermediary in the war in Iran, facilitating indirect communication between Tehran and Washington, as both sides explore the possibilities of a deal.

In Washington, there is a ’15-point agreement on the table’ that awaits a response from Tehran.

– White House Special Envoy Steve Vitkoff

Iranian officials deny any negotiations, although Iran said on March 25 that it was considering the US proposal and put forward five conditions for ending the conflict.

The efforts of Pakistan and regional partners signal a push for dialogue and de-escalation, but the final response depends on Tehran and Washington’s positions.
