Georgia Senate candidate Lanny Thomas shared an update on his condition and plans to continue campaigning on Sunday.
According to a release on Sunday, Thomas is on the path to a full recovery, and is ready to continue his campaign.
The release says Thomas and his medical team are “confident in his ability to perform the duties” if he should be elected State Senator.
One of the members of Thomas’ medical team is State Senator Chuck Hufstetler, who is an anesthesiologist at Redmond Regional Medical center.
Thomas posted a video on his Facebook page, directly addressing his condition.
In the release, Thomas thanked God and his medical team for his recovery.
He says his plan is to finish rehab and be home by the end of the next week.
He also encourages all voters to take part in the runoff election on April 7th.
“I ask for your continued prayers, your support, and your vote as we finish this race together,” Thomas says.
