Iran reportedly carried out missile and drone strikes on a U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia, injuring more than ten American troops.

U.S. media outlets reported Saturday that at least one missile struck Prince Sultan Air Base on Friday, while multiple drones were also launched in the attack.

The Associated Press said 15 personnel were wounded, including five seriously, while Iran claimed it had completely destroyed a U.S. aerial refueling aircraft.

Amid the escalation, about 35-hundred U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel have been deployed to the Middle East, with the U.S. Central Command confirming Saturday that sailors and Marines aboard the USS Tripoli arrived in the region on Friday.

U.S. President Donald Trump earlier said negotiations with Iran would continue until April 6, but Washington appears to be increasing military pressure and preparing for the possibility of a ground operation.

The Washington Post reported Saturday that the U.S. Department of War is preparing for weeks of ground operations in Iran, citing U.S. officials.
