    Not exactly a new thing. That’s always the argument for restricting freedoms.

  2. It was always about this, We know because you have a wealthy global elite paedophile ring and nothing is being done to them. These laws are being brought in so they can’t shut down any dissent before it begins to grow and organise.

  4. The agenda behind this is very clear. If we look at the lobbyists behind the voting that took place on the 26th we find European Digital Rights, CCIA, Doteurope, Google, Microsoft, Snapchat, X/ Twitter.

    Not a single organization lobbying for children’s safety.

    5+ organizations lobbying for more data from users so they can sell more ads.

    There’s real tension here, protecting kids is important,but it’s easy for that to be used to justify broader control if safeguards aren’t clear.
