In the Trojans sole game for college basketball this past week, they got dominated by the powerhouse that is the South Carolina women’s basketball team. Still within that loss, one Trojan shone. Many former Trojans in the NBA had an impressive week, or in the case of Bronny, their best days in the league are just ahead of them.
Here are my top performers this past week for USC hoopers, both in college and the NBA:

Women’s Basketball – Londynn Jones
It was a sad ending to a season that was finally turning for the Trojans women’s basketball team as they got blown out by South Carolina. In that game, however, senior Londynn Jones had 20 points off the bench, shooting 5-6 from 3, and had 4 rebounds in her final game at USC. Jazzy Davidson was the star of the show, but it was nice for Jones to go out with a game like this.
NBA – Demar DeRozan
DeRozan, this past week, went on a tear and had 2 elite performances. On Thursday, he dropped 33 points, had 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. The most recent showing he had was 22 points on Saturday, and 4 rebounds. Derozan continues to show that he still has it, and he can provide a team with a nice scoring punch even at his older age.

NBA – De’Anthony Melton
Melton only appeared in 2 games this past week, but one of which he had a great all-around performance. On Wednesday, he dropped 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals. His impact would be felt much more if the Warriors were fully healthy and he was playing alongside Steph Curry. This season has not gone as planned, but De’Anthony Melton should remain a part of the Warriors’ plans moving forward after his play this season.
NBA – Bronny James
Bronny James got a great moment with his father, Lebron James, this past week as the two made NBA history together. The father-son duo created the first father-son assist in NBA history. Bronny then followed that moment with an elite showing in the G League, where he posted 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. On his play with Lebron, he drained a 3; in his G League performance, he drained 6 of them. His game is continuing to evolve, and soon enough, he should be a key rotation player for the Lakers.

NBA – Evan Mobley
In 2 of his 3 games this past week, Evan Mobley kept up his impressive run of scoring and rebounding. Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, Mobley had 19 points without a miss, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. In the most recent game on Friday, he had 23 points and 10 rebounds. His connection with James Harden remains strong, and the Cavs are getting a dominant version of Evan Mobley, which, come playoff time, will be dangerous for the rest of the Eastern Conference.
