I’m saying this as an Albanian Kosovar. Türkiye is not the same as the Ottoman Empire. It changed drastically after Atatürk founded it. We can’t compare today’s Turks to the Ottomans. I’m talking about the educated majority living in Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and similar cities. They’re modern, Western-oriented and welcoming people. It’s pointless to bring up a 500-year-old occupation just to spread hate. By that logic all of Europe should hate Germans for what happened in 1944 or hold the same against France and the British Empire. Let’s move on, celebrate and see this as a match between two allies who get along pretty well

We respect and admire Turkiye for their help during the war, hosting refugees in 1999 and our partnership ever since. In 2008 we created a Turkish municipality from Prizren(Mamusha) where mostly only Turks live.
