Why do politicians insist on the photo op? Just do it via a video call.

Will he be using up precious fuel to get there and back?

I’m confident that Gina and all the other LNG leeches won’t use this crisis for personal gain, and that the Australian taxpayer won’t be footing the bill for this mess in the long term

The point of the national address was that shit is going to get pretty bad for the global economy over the next 6 months, but they have a plan.
The plan is, instead of increasing taxes on our LNG exports, which would be passed on the business in Singapore and consumers through out Asia we won’t do that and we will reliably export at a predictable price. And in exchange Singapore will reliably supply us with refined Malaysian crude, which they have more than enough for our domestic needs.
The Australia Institute’s plan would cause an immediate diaal shortage, which would not be made up by higher gas royalties. In fact we would be better off cutting the diesal rebate for the largest consumers the miners, and make them buy the electric trucks and trains.

Great chance to set a good example and take the bus to save on fuel 👍

Wonder if he might consider carpooling, swimming or catching a train there?

I hope at the very least this leads to long term resilience thinking. Renewables, high speed rail between cities, being self sufficient etc

More indulgent jet-setting by the charlatan. Great move.
