It’s a very diplomatic way of saying that ordinary Americans are ok…because of course ordinary americans aren’t conducting the affairs of state and at the forefront of global systems and order. The reality is that since 1979 and the takeover of the U.S Embassy in Tehran, Iran has conducted itself in animosity toward the United States with extreme fundamentalism and that long precedes the Trump administration.
