Community Health Systems has announced it has completed the sale of Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville to Huntsville Hospital Health System for $459 million.
According to a release, the sale includes all assets of the 180-bed hospital and its associated outpatient centers and practices.
The transaction represents the latest of several recent CHS divestitures, with the Franklin-based health care company having referenced potential asset sales during its fourth quarter and end-of-year 2025 earnings call.
Boston-based Leerink Partners acted as financial advisor to CHS for the transaction.

The funds will be used to support the development of what the nonprofit is terming as its Grow for Good campus in Nashville.
The campus will more than double capacity for Second Harvest with expanded warehousing and cold storage.
It will also create space to deliver services beyond food, including health care partnerships, nutrition education and workforce development.
Since 2020, Second Harvest has seen a 46 increase in need for food assistance, according to a release.
April is also HCA Healthcare’s national “We Show Up for Our Communities” days of service volunteer initiative.
HCA Healthcare and the HCA Healthcare Foundation have supported Second Harvest for more than 25 years, including helping launch the organization’s School Food Pantry Program.
The collaboration also includes hosting monthly Mobile Markets at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center to address food insecurity and supporting a pilot of the Food Is Medicine intervention program, which integrates food directly into health care to help patients experiencing food insecurity receive medically supportive foods.
HCA Healthcare colleagues have reported serving more than 14,600 volunteer hours with Second Harvest since 2018.
“This investment will help provide more families across Middle Tennessee with the support they need, and we’re proud to stand alongside Second Harvest to help advance a healthier future for our communities across the region,” Virginia Tenpenny, vice president of community engagement for HCA Healthcare and president of the HCA Healthcare Foundation, said in the release.
