This season, fans can root for the Rangers with nachos on their head, available with a new unique dish at Globe Life Field.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Let’s root, root, root for the Rangers… with nachos on our heads!
If they don’t win, at least we’ll leave with our stomachs full.
The Texas Rangers are providing a new, tasty way to stay engaged to the end of each game at Globe Life Field this season, mostly because it’ll likely take that long for fans to finish the large 9th Inning Rally Sombrero, which the team highlighted on social media on Thursday.
Check the date – too late for April Fool’s Day, this is real, and it’s stacked with ingredients that hopefully won’t cause any neck injuries as the Rangers look to complete another win at the ballpark.
Also, you want to watch your movement in case Corey Seager or Wyatt Langford hit a walk-off homer. Speaking of Homer, as with so many entertaining things, the Simpsons did it first.
The team also unveiled a new exhibit at Globe Life to honor the 30th anniversary of the 1996 American League West champions, the first team in franchise history to advance to the postseason. Game-used items and line-up cards will be exhibited in two display cases highlighting the events of the ’96 season, including items from Juan Gonzalez, Will Clark, Rusty Greer, Mark McLemore and manager Johnny Oates.
The cases will be displayed for all Rangers home games at the Southeast Entrance lobby of Globe Life Field and will also be a stop for selected public tours of the stadium.
The Rangers open their home schedule Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. First pitch is scheduled for 3:08 p.m. The National Anthem will be sung by Neal McCoy, and the Ceremonial First Pitch will be thrown by Dallas Stars goaltender and Team USA men’s hockey gold medalist Jake Oettinger.
