Another case for better regional rail services. Honestly if you prefer to drive a car you should be the biggest advocate for rail because it gets people off the road so you can enjoy it.

any holiday they will crash, any fucking day of the week there’s a crash somewhere there. Cunts cannot drive at all.

Also, never go away in the day, leave at night time and you won’t have any of these problems . About 6pm heading up north and it’s pretty smooth sailing

  3. It’s basically every single long weekend, and always in the same spots.

Hawkesbury River bridge, either side of the bridge. Mooney Mooney bridge as well, and either side of that. People can’t fucking drive up hills at a consistent speed + tailgating = phantom jams and crashes.

I call it the Gawksbury River bridge because people are too busy gawking at water, something they’ve apparently *never seen before*, instead of driving and will run up the back of someone.

And it’s *always* the right hand lane.

It’s amazing how it always banks up there, even if there hasn’t been an accident. Amazing because highways are designed to avoid traffic build up but it just proves people are fucking idiots

That photo gives me nightmares from the 1980s.

But at least we got to the Oak Milk bar at Peat’s Ridge.

  6. Leaving Sydney on a holiday or a Friday Arvo is the worst thing. You have people doing 130 up your arse or you have people doing 80 afraid of doing anything near the speed limit.

Then both groups of drivers will just merge at any point.

Plus I feel like Sydney drivers aren’t used to a highway because it’s not stop start

People speeding, in a rush always. Can’t leave a gap, can’t merge safely. Of course shit happens. Not enough cops on the road too as a kid used to see them always, as an adult hardly see any no wonder you have terrible drivers who hoon

This happens because modern day cunts think merging only requires 10 cm of space and 0.0000001 second of indicator notice.

These days I count how many times I can predict fuck wits who are going to merge out.

When people go oh shit my lanes backed up and look ahead gotta quickly change, everyone next to me make way for me.

These assholes need to be absolutely taken off the roads for a few years because there’s a shit tonne of them.

  9. Someone driving too slow for the conditions, while believing they were the safest driver out there, would have inevitably caused this mess.

  10. I drove past it not long after it happened, 3 cars on the first big uphill stretch – looks like someone had changed lanes on top of people in the right lane but everyone seemed okay.

  11. Some of the worst driving at high speeds I’ve seen ANYWHERE in the world is on this stretch of road… weaving, varying speed, tailgating, not keeping left – rain hail or shine…

This post could be 20 years old tbh. Same as when it rains, you know the idiots that cant drive to the conditions are going to crash in the wet.

It amazes me that so many people complain about a “cost of living crisis” yet the amount of people on the roads during a public holiday is astounding.
