Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia and Protopresbyter Georgije Stojisavljević, Head of the Office of the Patriarch of Serbia, visited the University Children’s Hospital in Belgrade.
The Patriarch was briefed on the work of this paediatric hospital, the oldest of its kind in the region, by its director, Professor Dr Siniša Dučić. Professor Dučić emphasised that the University Children’s Hospital in Belgrade is a highly specialised state healthcare institution, providing modern, top-level medical services in the fields of paediatrics and paediatric surgery. He also noted that it is the only tertiary-level paediatric institution in Serbia with a haemodialysis and kidney transplantation unit, as well as a neurosurgery department.
“With dedication to sick children and support for their families, our clinic is also a leading institution in introducing new technologies in these fields,” stated Dr Dučić, who accompanied the Patriarch through the departments together with Ms Milica Pavićević, the head nurse of the clinic. The Patriarch offered symbolic gifts to the young patients.
