In 2025, 42,762 traffic accidents were recorded in Bosnia and Herzegovina in total. Out of these, 8,124 involved killed and injured persons, while 34,638 involved material damage.
According to data from the Auto-Moto Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIHAMK), 288 people lost their lives in traffic accidents, 1,810 sustained serious bodily injuries, and 9,726 suffered minor injuries.
Compared to 2024, the number of fatalities increased by 66, or 29.73 percent.
During 2025, there were 6,908 more traffic accidents than in the previous year, which represents an increase of 19.27 percent.
The number of accidents involving fatalities and injuries increased by 117, or 1.46 percent. When it comes to accidentswith material damage, there were 6,791 more than in 2024, which is an increase of 24.37 percent.
In 2025, on average, 117 traffic accidents were recorded daily across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In these accidents, on average, five people sustained serious bodily injuries each day, while nearly 27 suffered minor injuries.
The average death rate in traffic accidents in Bosnia and Herzegovina is, unfortunately, about seven deaths per 1,000 accidents.
