Shawnee, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s golf team placed third at The Spring Thaw, which concluded on Saturday morning.
Over the two rounds, Stevens carded a +16, 592. Bridgewater won the event with a -6, 570, while Allegheny was one shot ahead of Stevens at +15. Stevens competed against #28 Bridgewater and #43 Drew, finishing nine shots ahead of Drew.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Noah Eide led the Ducks with a +3, 147 over the 36 holes. After an even par yesterday, Eide struggled on the front nine today and finished at +5. He rebounded on the final nine, carding a -2, 34. He tallied a birdie on the par-five 11th and the par-four 17th. Ben Slicker was one shot behind Eide, finishing at +4 and tied for 11th. Slicker registered four birdies on the day, including on the par-four fourth and par-five sixth. On the back nine, he was even with two additional birdies, on the 15th (par-five) and 17th (par-four).
Jack Harris tied for 16th with a +6, 150. He was two shots better today after carding a +2. He played the final 14 holes at -2, recording birdies on the par-four sixth and par-three eighth. Harris was even on the back nine, hitting a par on every hole. Arav Tank and Sebastian Beaver tied for 19th at +7. Tank tallied a birdie on the par-five sixth, while Beaver had four birdies, including three on the back nine.
UP NEXT
The Ducks are off until April 13, when they will host their first tournament. They will welcome teams to Basking Ridge Country Club for The Battle at Basking Ridge at 12:00 pm.
