HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Local lawmakers put politics aside and came together to celebrate the Easter season in Huntsville on Saturday afternoon.

State representatives Laura Hall and Anthony Daniels hosted the event on Oakwood Avenue. Plenty of other lawmakers were there too, meeting with the community.

With it being a re-election year, many of them wanted to make sure that everyone knows what’s happening in the state capitol.

State Representative Laura Hall said it’s an opportunity for parents and children to come out, enjoy themselves, and have a good time. She also also said it’s an opportunity to reflect on the goodness of the community and being able to be recipients of the work that’s being done by the elected officials.

Senator Singleton was there cooking hamburgers and hot dogs.

State Representative Rex Reynolds said it’s great for the families and the kids to get out and interact with everybody.
