WANA (Apr 04) – A convoy of 10 trucks from Azerbaijan carrying 200 tons of humanitarian aid arrived at the Astara border on Saturday, delivering essential food, medicine, and medical equipment to Iranian Red Crescent officials.
The shipment, which includes flour, rice, and pharmaceutical supplies, marks the third aid package sent by Baku to support Iran.
During the handover ceremony, Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mojtaba Demirchilou praised the gesture as a symbol of solidarity between the two neighbors, particularly as Iran faces ongoing regional military tensions.
Demirchilou also highlighted Azerbaijan’s role in facilitating international relief, noting that Baku recently enabled the transit of over 300 tons of Russian aid to Iran via air and rail corridors.
He emphasized that this cooperation underscores the strong trilateral ties between Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia during times of crisis.
