A record number of teams are expected to participated in the 25th edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival which will kick off in Nadur.
The 2026 edition, themed “The Luminous Legacy”, will showcase tradition and extraordinary skill in fireworks with elaborate displays spread across Malta and Gozo.
The festival will begin on April 18 in Nadur and continued on April 20, 25 and a grand finale in Valletta on April 30.
Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said it was a “source of satisfaction” that Nadur will host the opening of this special edition of the festival.
Each night will present a spectacular display of colours and designs in the sky, with the Pyro-Musical competition a key highlight when fireworks are artistically synchronised with music.
Around 40 fireworks factories and affiliated groups, including 8 competitors in the Pyro-Musical category, will take part in the event.
“This competition showcases the high level of technical skill and creativity of Maltese fireworks factories and further strengthens Malta’s international reputation in this field,” Camilleri said.
