openai is increasing the number of staff on its global affairs team from 35 (2023) to 50 (end of 2024). This increase comes not only as AI becomes more popular, but also as AI is facing higher scrutiny from regulatory bodies.
right now, the large players in AI are focused on two things: the tech behind AI and ensuring that regulations are added that are beneficial to AI
Perhaps the AI is already sentient and Sam Altman is just it’s butler/agent. 😉
Sounds like they decimated their ethics and safety team for more influence and bribery. Sounds like a good move if they’re looking to take over the world.
