High-level talks in Lviv explored concrete heritage protection measures and joint recovery planning. The meeting signalled intensified coordination ahead of URC2026 and new bilateral initiatives.
As part of the international conference “Cooperation for Resilience,” held in Lviv, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for humanitarian policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna met with Parisi Liljestrand, Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Sweden.
According to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the meeting took place within the framework of this conference and became part of bilateral efforts to support cultural heritage and recovery in the context of the war.
Cultural Cooperation Between Ukraine and Sweden During the War

The parties confirmed their interest in developing a strategic partnership in the areas of protecting cultural heritage, enhancing resilience and recovery within the Alliance for Cultural Resilience, and agreed to continue dialogue and coordination of joint initiatives in preparation for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2026).

Within the same conference, Berezhna also met with Finland’s Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie and Moldova’s Minister of Culture Kristian Jardan – organizers of the event report.
The conference “Cooperation for Resilience” brought together representatives of cultural and scientific institutions from various countries to discuss priorities for supporting cultural heritage and recovery in wartime, with an emphasis on strengthening resilience and international cooperation.
Such meetings underscore the role of cultural diplomacy as a tool for stability during war and foster the exchange of experiences between countries to ensure the lasting development of the cultural sector in times of crisis.
