Thats why we only go private, cause there is no point paying 300-400 kr for “go home and take paracet”

Me, first pregnancy, paid for a private ultrasound (because I am from a country where it is normal to have an early ultrasound, rule out ectopic pregnancy you know). Ultrasound showed placenta, but no embryo. Same with a second ultrasound after some bleeding. Very much wanted pregnancy, so very sad and afraid. So I called my fastlege and told them about it. The lady on the phone was like: Are you in pain? No. So appointment two weeks from now. Thank you for two more weeks of not knowing if I would have a baby or not. Two more weeks of emotional distress. Thankfully my actual fastlege (a British doctor) got me an appointment with an obgyn a couple days later (who unfortunately confirmed that there was a placenta, but no baby – and was surprised when I burst into tears). And that was only the beginning of the horrible odyssey that was my first pregnancy.

You know, if you’re having trouble with your doctor you can use https://www.legelisten.no/ to help find a better one. I’m so happy with my doctor, he has worked hard to get me to specialists that were pushing back and always makes me feel my concerns are valid. I’ve had doctors who are just like people say here, but it’s not universal!

This sounds like a “you” problem. My fastlege refers me for whatever, whenever.

To be fair, my fastlege got me an MRI in 2 weeks for telling him I got headaches early in the morning.
Other than that its always to take my daily dose of vitamin D.

And then you have me dreading any form of medical stuff because I’m overweight and everything gets put on that. So, when I have a medical emergency, I don’t wanna go. I had all the symptoms of an heart attack (because I’m fat, touché fastlege, touché) But I don’t wanna go. So I wait an hour to see if my heart stops breakdancing. When it does not, I pack a bag, take a shower, and after talking to the legevakt, I eventually go. I then sit in line and wait like a god boy. When they see me at the desk, they literally shut down the whole legevakt and I’m on a table, pumped full of morphine (or fun juice as I call it) and in an ambulance trying to decide whether to call a helicopter to Oslo or handle it at the local hospital. They eventually find out my hvert is misbehaving and not attacking me, so after an uncomfortable night getting told I’m fat and dehydrated, I go home.
I got so calloused by the fast lege always shutting down everything that when I thought I had an heart attack, I did not want to go anywhere until I was sure something was actually wrong. A hint was that my pulse fluctuated between 40-190 bpm rapidly. It was arterie flimmer.
So the moral of my story. Screw you fastlege, and you were kinda right.
