As someone who has applied for it, it is easy.
You just need to take a semi-decent picture of your head and provide your NI number and some other details.
Don’t let your vote be suppressed (I’m surprised at how little political parties are not helping people get their voter authority certs).
If I was a staffer with labour/snp/etc and I found people who couldn’t vote, I’d bend over backwards to help them get their voter certs, if nothing else.
