Happy (belated) Easter, my dear neighbors.

I got introduced to this delicious soup by an polish ex-girlfriend of mine. She might be gone, but my love for your food and interest in your culture has remained.

This soup has gotten to be my go-to for Easter. I even made the spiced rye Zakwas myself and imported the white sausages. There really is no good alternative for them!

    You made the zakwas yourself? Thats admirable, but you can easily buy a bottle or two of pretty good organic zakwas, just so you know.

    Looks great! In my family we also add ham and boiled eggs and horseradish/sour cream.

    Wow! Went all the way! Looks great😁 Excellent! – random US guy in Poland for 5 years. Spent 5 in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin prior.

  3. Nice! I also make zakwas for Żurek by myself as I like to bake sourdough bread as well.

    Feel free to experiment with:

    * add smoked meat (ribs, pork belly) to broth, it will give a nice smoked aroma
    * a LOT of marjoram
    * feel free to add mushrooms, smoked plums
    * I like cutting on slices and frying raw white sausage before adding to soup. Sausage will have nice flavour

    Secret ingridient is sausege, made out of meat, rather than raddish and ice. Glad you like it, thou.
