  1. Iran is in no hurry to stop fight US started when it know it has upper hand in choking the strait.

  2. there are 3 options: negotiate, try to talk them down, or put boots on the ground either to seize all of southern iran to force the straight open (and at that point, might as well commit to full regime change…would require almost the same amount of effort..), or commit 15-30+ ships to escort ships in the area constantly against drones, all are bad options.

  3. I think all that will be bullshit.

The Hormuz will stay closed, Iran will keep tool booth system. US can’t do anything, bomb Iran – same thing happens to gulf states in 30 minutes.

Even if US and Iran come to any sort of understanding Israel will torpedo the thing…

Just how fucking awful do you have to be, to make the western populace start sympathising with the fucking Iranian leadership?

  5. Iran also said no ceasefire talks were happening…. It’s all posturing to look strong. Things will progress, it’s clear that the US wants out and Irans willing to play ball.

I wonder if such a framework was written down on some kind of documenting implement. Maybe a piece of paper?

That would help resolve ambiguities around this situation

The world should see the paper and know who is telling the truth

  7. Both sides want to talk. Iran sees this as an opportunity to get sanctions lifted, Trump needs to make his deals for the midterms. The only one who does not want to see this end is Netanyahu. He needs a complete victory in order to justify starting the war. Right now Netanyahu’s opposition is already grilling him on what the purpose was for this war. Trump will call Netanyahu and probably tell him that a deal is being made with or without him. It is also not in Netanyahu’s interest to have Dems back in control in Washington.

    > “This is a victory for the United States that President Trump and our incredible military made happen,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X, as well as said during a news briefing earlier on Wednesday.

    > Leavitt also commented on reports that the Strait of Hormuz was closed.

    > “This is a case of what they are saying publicly is different privately. We have seen an uptick of traffic in the Strait today and I will reiterate the president’s expectation and demand that the Strait of Hormuz is reopened immediately, quickly, and safely,” she said. “That is his expectation that has been relayed to him privately and that that is what’s taking place and these reports publicity are false.”

This lady needs a serious dose of reality and could not be trying to slurp the presidents knob harder if they tried. Get a grip, geez.

  9. if only there were some way to hash out agreements between countries such that there’s no confusion over what the agreement is or means. Ah well. Twitter it is.

Uh oh, Trump is going to have to threaten to destroy the sun or something for his next TACO.

War will end with trump siding with Iran to take out isreal in an underhanded deal to eliminate his blackmailer while getting a cut from hormuz toll booth, throw that on poly market

That’s odd that Iran says US violated a deal since Iran has also been insisting publicly that there has been no negotiations taking place.

  13. So you’re saying the stock and oil markets might swing again so that those close to trump can make inside trades? I’m so shocked

  14. It sounds more like the admin is lying to the president so that he can live in his own separate reality

I hope everyone enjoyed and got their ships thru the Hormez in those six hours it was open. We’re all good now, right? …right?!

  16. Fucking Karoline Leavitt.

“ I will reiterate the president’s expectation and demand that the Strait of Hormuz is reopened immediately, quickly, and safely,” she said. “That is his expectation that has been relayed to him privately and that that is what’s taking place and these reports publicity are false.”

Don’t believe your lying eyes. The president says the straight is open so the straight is open.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact we now do global politics on social media?

The servers and infrastructure are (are?) owned by private entities.

Part of me feels like Pakistan told Iran the US agreed to work from Iran’s 10 points and told the US that Iran was willing to work from the US’s 15 points. Which, if true, would be a pretty saavy move by Pakistan to get everyone past the doomsday deadline.
