The centre-right, in opposition, is divided over the revocation of Benito Mussolini’s honorary citizenship.
It happens in Carpi where the resolution approved by the city council was proposed with a motion by the sole leader councilor of Forza Italia.
The motion was approved by the centre-left, while the League and the Brothers of Italy did not participate in the vote. This brings to a close a story that has been going on for some years in the Modena municipality.
The decision to revoke the honor has been made for the eightieth anniversary of the first elections in the territory e "underlining – we read in the provision of the mayor Riccardo Righi – the conscious reaffirmation of the founding values of the Republic and of democracy, including local ones, after the twenty years of fascism". Citizenship had been conferred on the Duce in 1924, as in many Italian administrations. And in recent years many Municipalities have opted for its revocation.
A Carpi, "in the city where the Fossoli Camp, the main concentration camp for Jews and political dissidents on Italian territory, this was a necessary act.

Boh, io sarei per tenerla la cittadinanza, così uno si ricorda che il proprio comune in passato ha fatto certe scelte. Altrimenti uno se ne dimentica…
Lungi da supportare questi 3 partiti, ma questa è una discussione assolutamente vuota e inutile.
La gente vota/non vota un partito per quello che fa, non per queste idiozie. Se la metà degli elettori non vota è proprio perché vede la politica litigare su queste cose astratte e che non influiscono nulla.

L’evidenza più significativa di questa notizia è che la Lega non vuole inimicarsi in nessun modo i nostalgici, presumibilmente per non cedere voti a Vannacci.

Perché è importante, uno dei drammi maggiori italiani è il non aver sottoposto a damnatio memoriae i peggiori criminali fascisti, così ci ritroviamo a pagare il mausoleo a Graziani e i militari che salutano la decima a ogni parata.
