Two Airbus A340-600s previously operated by German flag-carrier Lufthansa have been purchased for teardown by the UK’s Executive Jet Support.
The aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engines, are identified as MSNs 771 and 846.
Executive Jet Support says it acquired the jets through Frankfurt-based wet-lease and charter specialist USC, itself an operator of A340-600s and -300s.
The two -600s are the first A340s that Executive Jet Support has obtained, and they will both be disassembled at a Polish facility in Bydgoszcz.
“This strategic investment further strengthens our ability to serve operators, MROs and trading partners with a broader range of Airbus material,” the company adds.
It says the aircraft will provide a “wide inventory” of rotables and structural components.
