The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), Marko Kubatlija, met with the Ambassador of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mohammed Meraimi, to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, representatives of FIPA presented the agency’s key activities, objectives, and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economic potential, highlighting sectors attractive for foreign investment.
Ambassador Meraimi underlined the strong prospects for improving cooperation between the two countries, particularly in investment and trade. He emphasized that Algeria can serve as a strategic gateway to the wider African market, offering new opportunities for companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Both sides noted that business communities in the two countries still lack sufficient information about mutual economic opportunities. To address this, the Embassy of Algeria will organize a business event titled “Open Door Days with Businessmen and on the Potentials and Opportunities of Cooperation with BiH,” scheduled to take place in Sarajevo on April 20, 2026.
It was agreed that FIPA will act as a partner in organizing the event, deliver a presentation, and invite domestic companies to participate.
The meeting also highlighted mutual interest in strengthening institutional cooperation, including plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between FIPA and the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency.
