The idea is simple – you have books sitting on your shelf after reading them, someone in your neighbourhood wants to read them.

Instead of selling on OLX or letting them collect dust, you lend locally. In-person pickup, no shipping, no middlemen. There’s a token system – you lend a book, you get a token, you use the token to borrow from someone else.

Posted about it on a Polish Facebook group last week and 600 people from Kraków signed up – honestly didn’t expect that, was hoping for maybe 20.

Still actively building it, if anyone wants to check it out or leave feedback on what should be in it: czytajdalej.app

Happy to answer any questions.

Cześć, a ja mam zupełnie inne pytanie 🙂 Tworzę swoje oprogramowanie i miałby do Ciebie kilka pytań, czy możesz dać jakiś namiar jak się z Tobą skontaktować?

  2. Just invested 10 zł in your project, I am intrigued by the idea of turning a shelf of all those books collecting dust into a small library that neighbors can use.

  3. Cool idea but how does it differ from going to the public library and borrowing a book? Not trying to cool down your enthusiasm just curious

  4. Can you tell us how to sign up? 🙂
Great idea! Less waste, community building… gdzie wady 🙂

  5. How the economy of this tokens would work exactly? It is always 1 token per book or people will set a “price”? How you want to distribute those tokens initially? What is your plan for long term financing the project?

So its a social app with vague value system and tons of potential abuse vectors. Where responsibility lies?

If i drop in your system a book, and someone borrows it from me. How do you guarantee its getting back to me in one piece? You’d ban them if they don’t?

You say idea depends on lending, then that would imply you get it back after. If so, where does token generation originate. From act of borrowing? From adding a book to the app? Does ownership follow a book within your app or is it traded for tokens?

What about user data. Are you going to gather information about users? What kind? Because if its local honor system, people need ability to find each other. If so, then localizations, propably some kind of user irl identifiers that would be required for personal accountability, or messaging system so they can negotiate when and where. If messaging system, how secure it is going to be to protect potentially compromising data, E2E encryption or not?

Im curious, but also super confused.
