Tbilisi, Middle of April, +4 C. Dagestan and Chechnya are heavily flooded. Even at the Mediterranean coast of Turkey is +16 which is absurd for this time of year.
Something is clearly wrong. Is it going to be something like "Year without a summer"? Why does nobody talking about it? Will it affect agriculture and food production this year?
What's wrong with the weather in the region?

Can’t speak about Turkey but this is pretty normal for Georgia and Tbilisi, spring is always like that here(unpredictable)
Weather seems pretty normal to me. But I lived in Western Washington state for many years, and cold, wet springs are just another tuesday there
In fact, it’s actually abnormally warm and sunny and the mountain snowpack is melting unusually fast. They’re worried about an early wildfire season there
So us having a cold and wet spring is good news here. No risk of drought
Average temperature for the first 10 days of April 2026 in Tbilisi has been +12. Historical average (1981-2010) for the first decade of April is +10.5, 1991-2020 +11. You do the math, but Georgia is not Egypt.
