Egypt’s Ambassador to Russia Hamdy Shaaban has presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Non-Resident Plenipotentiary to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Presidential Palace in Minsk, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

    During the credential presentation ceremony, the Egyptian ambassador conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Belarusian president, expressing Egypt’s aspiration to strengthen ties with Belarus and advance joint cooperation across political, economic, trade and cultural fields, among others, in a way that serves their mutual interests.

    On his part, President Lukashenko asked his greetings to be conveyed to President El- Sisi, praising Egypt’s leading role in the Arab and African regions, as well as its efforts to promote peace and stability there.

    During his visit to Belarus, Ambassador Shaaban met with senior Belarusian officials, as they discussed means of cementing bilateral collaboration in the areas of economy, trade, tourism, agriculture and industry, in addition to other areas of mutual interest.

    The talks also included an exchange of views on various regional and international issues.
