Next year is on a Sunday, so that sucks.
I bring news from the future:
There will be a record amount of sick days in SA, NT, QLD, VIC, and TAS on Monday the 27th.
NSW already has the least public holidays, losing one would cause riots
What you mean “extra”? Some states are not getting one and that’s bs
For context, Melbourne gets one for a horse race and a football game.
I love how articles like this always frame it like “Yeah, you get the day of… if you can prove to your boss you’re doing something culturally significant that day, otherwise its reasonable refusal”. Public holidays are a crock of shite. Might as well just call them white collar public service holidays at this point
