Couldn't really think of where else to post this but here's the distance myself and a crew of 3 others will be travelling on a survey route/resupply run for remote communities. We'll be collecting sample cores from key locations around the red interior before heading back out onto the main highway.

Is it just me, or is a map of western Australia that refuses to show the name of Perth ass?

40 hours is a ways even by Canadian standards. Could that north coast sustain a major city?

  6. this looks very cool. I like to watch people like malcom douglass (he died) do journeys around this area too.

How long will this take you?

Closest I’ve done was a 900 mile drive around Wyoming for work, decades ago, upgrading time clocks. I think it did it in four days with about 1.5 hours of actual work.

honestly this sounds like a really fun job how many beautiful places do you get to see they must be countless!
if you don’t mind me asking how much do you get paid for this? it has to be a significant amount given how much time you spend driving away from the comfort of your home and your family

  9. Distance seems to be about equivalent to a Berlin to Madrid route (with stops in Milan and Lisbon). A little longer, actually.

I was curious about the town of Tom Price and it says it was named after an American named Tom Price who was an executive at the company who was mining there and he died two hours after finding out there were iron deposits in the area they were surveying that ended up being named after him

I’ve done this trip. Slightly different route tho. About 2 hours north of Geraldton the car broke down.

    That shit was scary.
