On 19 December 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, participated in the 51st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

In his address, the Deputy Minister positively assessed the activities carried out under the Chairmanship of the Republic of Bulgaria. Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili emphasized the importance of enhancing security in the Black Sea region, noting that it constitutes a necessary precondition for the sustainable and stable economic development of BSEC member states. He also underscored the significance of the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region, in full respect of the principles of state sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Particular attention was paid to ongoing and planned projects involving Georgia in the fields of connectivity, transport, and energy, as well as to the need for peace, stability, and cooperation in the Black Sea region, taking into account its strategic importance.

Within the framework of the 51st Meeting of the BSEC Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs held on 19 December, Georgia assumed the Chairmanship of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation for a six-month term (1 January–30 June 2026). The Georgian side presented its vision for the Chairmanship to the member states, highlighting that particular emphasis would be placed on connectivity, sustainability, and the strengthening of cooperation.
