In brief: Historically, Australian organised crime only committed violence against those directly involved. Their honour code forbade them from attacking innocent friends and family of their targets.
Now, it would appear that friends, family, and nearby bystanders are now getting killed, whether by accident, mistaken identity, or intentionally.
