After a meeting with Chancellor Merz, Zelensky revealed newly signed agreements that signal expanded defense and industrial cooperation. The details suggest wider support for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

    The outcome of the meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was new cooperation agreements – ten in total.

    Zelensky announced this on Telegram.

    «Today’s a special and substantive meeting with Friedrich Merz. We spoke specifically about how to make our efforts even more active and strong. Before the bilateral talks we saw seven types of drones produced at our joint ventures. Six of them are aerial and one is ground-based. This is a substantial result of our cooperation, and it’s important that there will be more. Today we have new cooperation agreements – ten in total. In the most important areas»

    He noted that Germany is a major leader in supporting Ukraine and the top provider of defense aid.

    According to official sources, on April 14 between Ukraine and Germany two documents were signed within the framework of intergovernmental consultations: one concerned cooperation between the German Federal Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and a declaration of intent regarding support for industrial recovery and resilience was signed between the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

    Zelensky emphasized the importance of Germany’s support for Ukraine and Europe’s security.

    These agreements demonstrate the readiness of both countries to strengthen security and economic interaction in the European context. Ukraine and Germany plan to continue developing joint defense cooperation and economic collaboration to support reconstruction and stability in the region.
